Martha Lee Prothro
Martha Lee Prothro, 92, of Ashland, Mississippi passed away on February 2, 2026 at the Ashland Nursing Home. Martha was born to the late Mr. John and Mrs. Marie Alcorn Dunnahoe in St Louis, Missouri on January 21, 1934. She was Baptist in faith and worked as a teacher as well as a professional artist. She received her B.S. in Education from Louisiana Tech University. Mrs. Prothro is survived by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Mr. John Robert Prothro, 2 sons, Stephen Prothro (Gwen Scholes) of Germantown, TN and David Prothro of Ashland, as well as 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Judy and Nancy. Mrs. Prothro will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Name: Ervin R Smith Date: 2/11/2026 3:32:43 AM Message: I'm disappointed to hear about Ms. Martha's demise, but so glad to get an update and learn about her life (esp. about the artist part). I met her last Spring when my brother was in Rehab at Ashland for 102 days. I was really alarmed when finding her room empty one day but was told she had checked out so assumed she was being cared for by Family. She was a sweet soul, I enjoyed talking to her. She really looked much younger! Best regards to the family. (I'm in Waterford.)
