On Sunday morning, December 11, 2022, just before church time, Rudolph
Wilson, of Ashland, met his Savior as the result of an extreme, fast-moving illness.
He was a patient at the Leconte Medical Center in Sevierville, TN. Rudolph was 79 years of age.
The only son of R. E. and Beulah Bell Wilson, he grew up on the farm in Benton County. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1960, then joined his father in the farming and cattle operation. Rudolph married his loving wife of 54 years, Carlie, in 1968. Rudolph and Carlie have one “son” by choice, Wayne Wilson, and wife Cindy. Rudolph was a grandfather to Brandon Wilson, Jordan Wilson Harbor and Shelby Mitchell Tubb. He was a great-grandfather to Mason and Piper Wilson, Charleigh and Essie Harbor, and Gracelyn Tubb. He loved as a brother Anthony Mitchell and his wife Dorothy.
Rudolph was a Christian, a member and an ordained deacon of Ashland Baptist
Church. For many years he was chairman of the church brotherhood. The men of
this group built wheelchair ramps for people in need. He was a member of the
Ashland Civic Club, past member of Gideon's International, and in recent years
he was part of a team who built “Beds for Kids in North MS”.
Throughout their marriage, Rudolph and Carlie loved traveling. During the past
ten years, they enjoyed visiting much of God’s beautiful creation, traveling with
Debbie Breedlove, sister by choice, Daniel and Jane Alsup, Don and Linda Janes
and Terry and Mary Ann Autry. Rudolph loved gardening, with his specialty being thornless blackberries. He enjoyed giving blackberries and assorted vegetables to friends.
He is survived by his wife, Carlie, one uncle, Rudell Wilson, and one aunt, Billie
Carter.
