Velma Dean Roberson, 74, of Lamar, MS passed away on September 1, 2025 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Velma was born on January 18, 1951 in Holly Springs, MS to Mr. Curtis Allen Sr. and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Humphrey Allen.

She was Baptist in faith and was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church in Holly Springs, MS where she attended until her health hindered her. Mrs. Roberson was a waitress at Turks Burgers and Chicken as well as Phillips Grocery in Holly Springs.

Mrs. Velma is survived by her son, Scottie D. Roberson (Michelle) of Lamar, MS, a daughter, Angela Yeager (Jim) of Slayden, MS, a brother Curtis Allen Jr., as well as three sisters, Opel Jean Luke of Lamar, MS, Joann Gray of Mt. Pleasant, MS, and Dorothy Kahler of Lamar, MS. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Hugh Roberson, sisters, Patricia Churchill and Janet Phillips, as well as her parents.

Services for Mrs. Roberson will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Clear Creek Baptist Church in Lamar, Ms at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held the day prior on September 4, 2025 at the same location from 5:00 untill 8:00 PM. A grvaeside service will be held following the funeral service and she will be interred at the Clear Creek Cemetery.
