Bennie Solomon Mayer

Bennie Solomon Mayer, age 76, died Saturday, July 23, in Holly Springs, after a brief Illness.  He was born on October 12, 1945, in Memphis, to Jim and Jettie B Cox Mayer.  Bennie was a member of Red Banks Baptist Church.  He was a Teamster Local 667 member and was retired from Roadway Express. 

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Ruth Gurley. He is survived by his wife, Regenia Mayer of Olive Branch, a daughter, Amy Palmer (Blake) of Waterford, and a son, Randy Mayer of Holly Springs.  He also leaves a step daughter, Jennifer Foutch (Rich) of Odessa, Missouri, two step sons, James Michael Jackson (Beth) of Philadelphia, and Mark Jackson (Bryanne) of Senatobia, a brother, Robert Mayer of Holly Springs, and eleven grandchildren, Hunter, Cade, and Cole Palmer of Waterford, Madalynn Mayer of Coldwater, Olivia, Karis and Asher Jackson of Philadelphia, Klaire and Emma Jackson of Senatobia, Roxanne Stubblefield (Jacob) of El Paso, Texas, and Raven Brewer of Kansas City, Missouri, and three great grandchildren, Caden Brewer, and Leonard and Devin Levings of Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 1:00 pm.  A visitation for family and friends will be held two hours prior to the service at 11:00 am, and last until service time.  Brother Arnold Goode will officiate.  Burial will be at the Chewalla Primative Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials will may be made to the Chewalla Primative Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
