Johnny Ray Ross Sr, 78, of Slayden, Mississippi passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2025 after battling illness from cancer. He was born to the late Mr. Raymond and Mrs. Mittie Olene Ross on February 19, 1947 in Corinth, Mississippi.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Jean Ross, sons, Ray Ross (April), Billy Ross (Kevin), Tim Browning (Penny), Terry Browning (Adrianne), Scott Browning (Stephanie), Grandsons, Jake Browning, Matt Browning, Nicolas Browning (Emma), Zachary Ross, Ethan Browning, Camryn Martinez, Natalee Martinez, and Lilly Martinez. He is also survived by sisters, Paula Hunsucker (Sonny), Patsy Leblanc (Bennie), and his brother Butch. Preceding him in death are his parents as well as a sister, Debbie Ross, and a number of aunts and uncles.

Mr. Ross was a Vietnam veteran where he served his country faithfully in the US Army from 1968-1969. He had a variety of hobbies which included hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Johnny also served in the church.

He loved his family and church family. Johnny was loved by so many and will surely be missed.

Funeral services will be held at the Slayden Baptist Church in Slayden, Mississippi on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until service time. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at the Slayden Cemetery where he will be buried and military funeral honors will be administered.
