Louise Blaylock Strickland

Louise Blaylock Strickland, 93, of Holly Springs, Mississippi, passed away at Holly Springs Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on  August 13, 2021.  She was born in Ashland on December 13, 1927, to Walter Vernon Blaylock Sr and Florence Roberts Blaylock.  Mrs Strickland was retired from Southcentral Bell and was a member of First United Methodist Church.  She was a dedicated tennis player and an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and all things Elvis!  

Mrs Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Rondle Strickland Sr.  She is survived by her son Wesley Rondle Strickland Jr and his wife Irene; a granddaughter, Cameron Strickland Rhea (Jason), and two great grandchildren, Marlee Wilson Rhea and Jason Case Rhea. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Walter Vernon Blaylock Jr, David Larson Blaylock, Charles Edward Blaylock, and Kenneth Lee Blaylock, and one sister, Mary Nell Blaylock. She leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces whom she adored.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Hill Crest Cemetery.  Pallbearers for Mrs Strickland are Eddie Clark Boatwright, Phil Boatwright, Elton Bray, John David Strickland, and Shane Strickland. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Barnett, Bobby Bonds, Neil Carlisle, Johnny Cardwell, Ralph Doxey, C B McClatchy, Bobbie Seale, Pat Ellis Stubbs, and Bob Woods.  The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Holly Springs, P O Box 147, Holly Springs, Mississippi  38635.
