Luther Dean Bumpas, 84, of Holly Springs passed peacefully and went to his heavenly home on February 4, 2023.
He was born on September 14, 1938 in Mount Pleasant, Mississippi to Mr Russell Carmack Bumpas and Mrs. Genie Carmen Bumpas. He was the youngest of 6 children.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a family man not only did he love the Lord he loved his wife and his children. He was such a kind soul always willing to help others. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church of Myrtle, Ms. He was a man of faith who loved the Lord. He enjoyed singing gospel songs, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was also a huge Mississippi State fan. GO DAWGS! He will deeply be missed by all his family, friends and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Arleva Floyd Bumpas of 61 years. Two Daughters Anita Bumpas Young(Chris) and Kim Bumpas Owen(Nick). Two grandchildren Kyle Young and Kristen Cook(Ryan). Two great grandchildren Nora Faye Cook and Dawson Cook. One brother John Paul Bumpas(Ruth).
He is proceeded in death by his parents Russell and Genie Bumpas. His three brothers Kent Bumpas, Oliver Bumpas, and Russell Jr. Bumpas. His one sister Maxine Bumpas Woods.
Services for Mr. Bumpas will be held in the chapel of Holly Springs Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 2:00pm. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00am until services start. Burial to follow at Hill Crest Cemetery. Brother Marty Merritt will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Chris Young, Kyle Young, Ryan Cook, Anthony Clayton, Edward Floyd, Randy Hangey, Alex Stone, and Ronnie Hangey.
