Rita Carol Stewart

Rita Carol Stewart, 59, passed away at her home in Byhalia on April 11, 2022.  She was born on November 4, 1962, in Memphis, to Glynn Hudson and Edna Jones Hudson.  Mrs Stewart was a graduate of Oakhaven Baptist Academy and was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of Emory Church, and enjoyed arts and crafts, her flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs Stewart is survived by her husband, William Stewart,  three daughters, Nora Cossitt (Justin) of Arlington, Tennessee, Lorin Hall (Josh) of Oakland, Tennessee, and  Lindsey Planty (Ian) of Lone Tree, Colorado, a step daughter, Brandi Stiles (Carlos) of Southaven, and a stepson, Dustin Stewart (Courtney) of Southaven.  She also leaves a sister, Sheila Williams of Savannah, Tennessee, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.  

Services for Mrs Stewart will be held at Emory Church, 872 Watson Road, Byhalia, Mississippi,  on Monday, April 18, 2022, at 11:00 am.  A visitation will be held 10:00 am, and last until service time.  Burial will be at Emory Cemetery.  The family requests that floral tributes be ordered from Olive Branch Florist.

Rita was a great friend that I lost contact with but always felt like we were always together in my heart. I am so so sorry to hear of her passing and I Pray for all of you during this time.

I didn’t get to visit with my cousin, Rita, very often once we were all grown up and raising our own children, but I have fond memories of the times we did spend together. Rest in peace, my sweet little cousin. Sending my heartfelt sympathy to all of her family.
