Holly Springs Funeral Home

Juanita Young Thomas

Virginia Juanita Young Thomas, 81, of Holly Springs, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving children on December 29, 2022.  She was born on May 31, 1941, in Abbeville, to W T Young and Vera Mae Kesler Young.  Mrs Thomas was a founder and co-owner of the Holly Springs Funeral Home with her husband, Charles Thomas.

Mrs Thomas was well known for her musical gifts and talents, and was also an accomplished artist.  Music, and the love for her Lord, centered her life and she often said that her heart was full of song, which she happily shared with others as her witness and testimony to her faith.  Her love for her family was her main focus, second only to her faith in God.  She was loved and admired by all as a peaceful, gentle, and calm soul in a sometimes grief-stricken world.  In 1960 she married the love of her life, Charles Thomas, and they were inseparable for over 62 years while raising their family and operating the day-to-day routines of their businesses.

Mrs Thomas is survived by her three sons, Chuck (Sue), Barry (Karen), and Kevin (Donna) Thomas, and her daughter, Janna Thomas Stanton (Sonny), all of Holly Springs.  She also leaves nine grandchildren, Trey Thomas (Mandy), Emmily Hurdle (Nathan), BJ Thomas (Emily), Kasie Teel (Colter), Paige McMullen (Justin), Brandi Byrd (Derek), LeAnn Stafford (Trip), Nick Stanton (Megan) and Brittany Connor (Derrick), twenty-one great grandchildren, and siblings Talmage Lloyd Young (Ann) of Eupora, Bonnie Young Smith (Jamie) of Batesville, and Sheila Jo Young Faulkenbery (David) of Eupora.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wylie Thomas, her parents, and a sister, Cecelia Young Estock.

Funeral services for Mrs Thomas will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home. The Thomas Family will receive family and friends during a visitation at the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 1, 2023, from 3:00 until 6:00 pm.  Burial, following the service, will be at Hill Crest Cemetery.

Dear Chuck, Janna, Bary and Kevin,
I am so sorry to here of the passing of both your dad and mom. They were truly great people who not only left a lasting impression on everyone they came in contact with, but left a legacy of great children. I have so many memories of us all growing up together, the horses were some of the best times I remember. The competition, the win , the drive to be the best! All the trophies on the hood of the truck! I'll never forget how your dad would root us on, whistling his heart out for us! Good times, those days made us all stong and played a part of who we all are. Y'all have always been there for us offering support during our trialing times. Your mom was such great lady, the last time I saw her was at dad's funeral, doing what she always did, offering sincere support.I know that you all will find peace in knowing they are with our lord. They say time heals, I say time just makes it easier. My thoughts and prayers are with you all !
