Betty Marie Clements Duncan of Potts Camp, MS passed with grace from the travails of earthly life into the rewards of her eternal home of her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2021. She had recently celebrated her 89th birthday. Betty was born January 13, 1932 in Pratt, Kansas to Clarence and Florence Clements.
Betty was the fourth of eight children growing up in the Great Depression and in the Dust Bowl of western Kansas. Her father worked for the railroad while her mother was a homemaker. She graduated in 1950 from Pratt High School. Later she went to work for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Administration office in Denver, CO. and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary until her passing.
Betty’s greatest joys were her family, church family and dear friends. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her circle of friends and attending church, Sunday School and Bible study with her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husbands Dean Cobb and Norman Duncan.
Betty is survived by her children Charles “Chuck” Duncan and wife Laurie of Loomis, NE, Pam Stegeman of Pahrump, NV, Craig Duncan and wife Barbara of Denver, CO and Garry Duncan of Denver, CO.; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Service is planned for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 6th at First Baptist Church in Potts Camp. The service will be livestreamed via Potts Camp First Baptist Church Facebook page. Fellowship and hors d’oeuvres to follow at the Betty’s residence.
