Jo Ann Huffstatler Roberson

Jo Ann Huffstatler Roberson, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away peacefully in Victoria, Mississippi on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the age of 88.

Jo Ann was born on January 21, 1936, in Union County, Mississippi, to Woodrow Huffstatler and Fairy (Bailey) Huffstatler-Dowdy.  She married Charles W Robertson in 1953, and was happily married for forty years at the time of his death in 1993.  She met and married Charles A Roberson and was once again happily married until his death in 2016.

She began her first career as a United States Air Force wife, living in many USAF bases around the world, in California, England (Great Britian), Florida, Tripoli (Libya) and Nebraska, where she was active in Avon/Tupperware Sales, Girl Scouts, and Youth Leadership.  Following her husband's retirement from the USAF, she attended Cosmetology School and became a licensed Hairdresser.  She later became a Substitute Teacher, where the students lovingly referred to her as Momma Jo, and Bus Driver at Byhalia High School.  In conjunction with the part-time teaching assignments, she obtained the position of Post Master Relief at the Victoria, Mississippi Post Office, ending her work career(s) in 2011, after twenty years with the Post Office.  She has been a resident of Victoria for forty seven years, where she has been an active and dedicated member of Victoria Heights and First Southern Baptist Churches, teaching Sunday School and volunteering in VBS and faithfully supplying her famous Sweet Tea for almost all Pot Luck Fellowships.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles W Robertson; husband Charles a (Charlie) Roberson; step-father Loyd Dowdy; daughter Cathy L Tackitt; brother Jimmy Huffstatler; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Shirley Smedley; brother-in-law Bob Langford; sister-in-law Betty Elmore; and brother and sister-in-law Hugh and Barbara Robertson.

Jo Ann is survived by her children, Linda Carpenter (Doug), Larry Robertson, Jason Robertson, and Sarah Mills; grandchildren Jamie Tedford, Kevin Wells, Jessica Roberson, Brian Wells, Samantha Gatis, Michael Mills and Katie Mills; thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, brother Terry Dowdy (Holly) , brother-in-law Troy Robertson (Novene), sister-in-law Mary Langford and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Doug Carpenter, Kevin Wells, Brian Wells, Michael Mills, Joseph House, Aiden Wells and Robert Green.

Services for Mrs Roberson will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home in Holly Springs, Mississippi.  Brother Joe Nunley and Brother James Wolfe of First Southern Baptist Church will be officiating.   A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, May 13, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.  Burial, following the funeral service will be at Glenfield Memorial Park in New Albany, Mississippi.  THe Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.

I will miss your smiling face and the beautiful eyes. I will always remember the long talks we had. The times we shared were always so special to me.
