Mary Lillian Joyner Anderson

Mary Lillian Joyner Anderson, 85, of Mt Pleasant was called to her heavenly home on November 7, 2023, to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.  She was born to WT and Pauline Joyner on January 21, 1938, in Cayce, Mississippi.

Mary was a dedicated and faithful follower of Jesus.  She was gentle, loving and kind.  She was a helpmate to her husband of sixty five years, Larry Gordon Anderson Sr.  Her life was spent living as an example of a Christian, a wife, a mother and a grandmother.  She adored and treasured her husband and she loved her four sons deeply.  She generously gave her time and attention to her grandchildren, and her sisters and brothers were extremely precious to her.

Mary loved to attend any event that her family was involved with, and some of her favorite times were spent with her family picking buttercups and blueberries, just tossing a baseball (yes, she would pitch!) or exploring the aisles at Dollar General with "the little ones"; and excitedly awaiting the addition of a new family member.

Mary was employed with WalMart Vision Center for tewnty five years.  She worked with Mt Pleasant Christian Academy as a school secretary and for Wonder Products.  She was a member of Carey Chapel Baptist Church.

Mary was preceded in death by Larry Gordon Anderson Sr, and grandsons Ean Anderson and Trey Anderson. She will be missed by sons Gordon (Deidre) Anderson, Paul (Melissa) Anderson, Andy (Rebecca) Anderson, and Eric (Amber)  Anderson, grandchildren September (Paul) Curl, Erica (Ryan) Brown, Wesley (Kaitlyn) Anderson, Colton (Christina) Anderson, Molly Kate Anderson, Bryson Anderson, Maizy Anderson, Katie Groning, and Chelsea (Kyle) Skelton, and great grandchildren Tylen Anderson, Sutherlyn Anderson, Sawyer Anderson, Sabra Brown, Gentry Anderson, Halston Anderson, Dani Groning, Beau Bass, Daisy Skelton, and Eddie Skelton.

Services for Mary will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 3:00 pm, at Carey Chapel Baptist Church.  A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm and last until service time.  The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.
