Mary Lou (Saulters) Holbrook of Ashland, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the age of 81. Mary was one of nine children, born on July 17, 1939, in Bassfield, Mississippi, to Buford Burl and Lillie Mae (Deen) Saulters.
Mary was a proud member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Ashland, and sang in the choir for years. God, her family, and her church were her priorities in life. She was a caregiver to many thru the years, yet she never expected any praise.
Services for Mary will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 11:00 am, at Liberty Church, with Rev. Stacy McKee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, at the Holly Springs Funeral Home, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. The family requests that masks be worn, and that COVID safety guidelines be observed as much as possible.
Mary is survived by two sisters, Lois Tyler of Ashland, Mississippi, and Doris Hodges of Crossville, Tennessee; two stepsons, Douglas Holbrook (Shelia) of Ashland, and Joseph Holbrook (Vickie) of Slayden, Mississippi, and a host of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and many friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert (Jerry) Holbrook; five brothers, Edward, Ross, Harrell, Will, and George Saulters, and one sister, Ouida Loomis, and a stepson, Johnny Holbrook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the donor’s charity of choice. They would like to thank friends and family for the love, friendship, and prayers that you gave during her time of illness.
