Robert Lee Rainey Sr

Robert Lee Rainey Sr, 80, of Byhalia, passed away at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch on March 16, 2023.  He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 31, 1943, to Vernon Thomas Rainey and Amy Lou Dillard Rainey.  Mr Rainey was a United States Air Force veteran and was a retired grocery store manager.

Mr Rainey is survived by a daughter, Lisa Dignowity (Max) of Byhalia, and four grandchildren, Kevin Robert Rainey (Taby), Max Dignowity Jr, Melanie Barnes (Shane), and Megan Elkins (Dwayne).  He also leaves a brother, Billy Gene Rainey of Mt Pleasant, and a sister, Martha Ann Morris of Memphis.  Mr Rainey was preceded in death by a son, Robert Rainey Jr, four brothers, Glen Rainey, David Rainey, John Rainey, and Charlie Rainey, and a sister, Mattie Smith.

Services for Mr Rainey will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11:00 am.  A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 20, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, at the funeral home.  Burial, following the service, will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park Midtown Cemetery.
