Virginia Lee Christensen

Virginia Lee Christensen, age 80, resident of Michigan City, MS, and wife of Ellsworth Roger
Christensen, passed away on Friday June 17, 2022 at Baptist Memphis Hospital in Memphis,
TN. Virginia was born on March 31, 1942 in Covington, VA to the late Frank and Homa Jones.
She moved to Memphis, TN with her husband in the early 60’s, where she worked as an
freelance artist, most notably known for doing large murals in homes and businesses. She had
a passion for art, flowers, and all animals. She rescued and cared for many animals over the
years.
Mrs. Christensen is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Ellsworth Roger Christensen; two
sons, Corey Christensen (Holly) of Michigan City, MS and Eric Christensen of Memphis; 3
grandchildren, Alexandria Christensen of Southaven, MS; Lily Walker and Ryan Walker, both of
Michigan City, MS; and one sister, Patricia Mefford of Richmond, VA. She is preceded in death
by her father, Frank Jones; and mother, Homa Jones, and brother-in-law, Garnett Mefford..
Virginia never liked being the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no services.
