Roger Dale Mitchell was born on June 13, 1947, in Memphis, TN to Maree A. Mitchell Sr. and VIda Brock Mitchell. He went home to the Savior from his home on September 20, 2021. He was a Baptist and worked as an electrician and plumber in his business, Mitchell Electric and Plumbing for many years.
He loved to cook barbecue and competed with friends in many BBQ competitions. He was the life of any gathering.
His service will 11:00 a.m., September 24, 2021 at the Holly Springs Funeral Home. Visitation will 5:00-9:00 p.m., September 23, 2021 also at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Red Banks Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Ann Kimery Mitchell; his son, Kenneth Dale (Julie) Mitchell; his daughter, Leigh Ann Cook; and six grandchildren, Justin Andrew (Molly) Mitchell, Jordan Matthew Mitchell, Shawn Kimery Cook, Kelsey Marie (Jeremy) Fisher, Jax Keegan Mitchell and Kenlie Reese Mitchell. His children and grandchildren were his reason for living. He adored each and every one of them. There was nothing he wouldn't have done for any one of them. He is also survived by his brothers, Ernest L. Mitchell of Anchorage, AK, and Harold Dean Mitchell of Southaven, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by two of his daughters, Jamie Maree Mitchell and Amy Elizabeth Mitchell; his brothers, M.A. Mitchell, Jr. and Reverend Billy G. Mitchell, Sr.; and his sisters, Maxine Mitchell Eben, Linda Elaine Mitchell Zachry and her husband, Leake Zachry and Joyce Mitchell Stowitzky |
