Alfred Willis Wilburn died on Monday October 9, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 1, 1959, in Grand Junction, Tennessee. He was sixty four years old, and lived his entire life in Michigan City, Mississippi. He was the youngest child of Lawrence Earl (Tom) and Rena Agnes Wilburn, who have preceded him in death. His siblings are Linda Gatewood (Jerry) of Roger Springs, Tennessee, Larry Wilburn (Vickie) of Adamsville, Tennessee, Wayne Wilburn (Kathy) of Walnut, Mississippi, and Bonnie Copeland of Savannah, Tennessee. He has three nephews and three nieces, eight grand nephews and nieces, and one great great niece, as well as too many cousins to count.
Mr Wilburn was married to Roxanna Lusk of Saulsbury, Tennessee. They had one child, Renee Nicole Wilburn, of Parsons, Tennessee. They divorced, but remained partners and best friends for forty three years. They have raised three wonderful grandchildren, together, Rachel Nicole, age 20, Cagney, age 17, and Riann Nicole, age 16, all of Saulsbury.
Mr Wilburn was a lifetime outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. One of his favorite activities was driving around, with his grandchildren, looking for any wildlife. He loved spending time with his friends and family, and making other people laugh and enjoy life. He showed his love to both friends and family by his ACTIONS, not just words.
Services for Mr Wilburn will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at noon. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 am, and last until service time. Burial will be at Early Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Lamar, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Early Grove Methodist Cemetery Fund, 353 Wilburn Road, Lamar, Mississippi 38642.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wilburn, Chad Wilburn, Paul Wilburn, Chuck Shindledecker, Joe Omedeo, and Cagney Tiffany.
