James (Jim) Louis Roberson, 79, passed away at Germantown Methodist Hospital Sunday September 6, 2020. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday September 10, 2020 at Collierville United Methodist Church, Sanctuary on the Square, Collierville, Tennessee. Private family interment service will follow at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, Ripley, Mississippi. Arrangements by Holly Springs Funeral Home, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
Mr. Roberson was born in Memphis, TN to James Herman Roberson and Letris Hall Roberson. He grew up in Memphis, TN and graduated from Messick High School. He attended Memphis State University and studied business and accounting. Mr. Roberson was an accountant at Goldsmith’s Department Store and spent 41 years as Controller at J. Strickland & Company. He served his country in the Air Force National Guard.
Jim committed his life to Christ as a teenager and served as a Deacon at Covenant Presbyterian Church and was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church since 1980. Jim was married to Linda Cross Roberson for 55 years and they had three children. He enjoyed coaching baseball and soccer in Whitehaven and Collierville. Duck hunting was a favorite winter hobby. He especially enjoyed travelling after his retirement. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends whom he loved very much.
Mr. Roberson is survived by his wife Linda; and sons James Barry (Kimberly) Roberson; John David (Michelle) Roberson; daughter Lisa Roberson (William) Clavelli; and beloved grandchildren John Grady Roberson and Sarah Grace Roberson.
