Jimmy Lee Evans, 76, of Potts Camp, Mississippi, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2025. Jimmy was born to the late Mr. Hubert and Mrs Louise Potter Evans in Holly Springs, Mississippi, on January 23, 1949. He was Baptist in faith, and worked as a serviceman for the Coca Cola Corporation for many years.
Mr. Evans is survived by his son, Keith Joyner (Heather) of Potts Camp, a daughter, Cheryl Smith of Hickory Flat, grandchildren, Kody Joyner and Hunter Joyner, as well as great-grandchildren, Hunter Leach and Crue Joyner. He is also survived by several brothers, Johnny Evans of Olive Branch, Danny Evans of Waterford, Terry Evans of Potts Camp, and several sisters, Debbie Stanton of Holly Springs, Sandra Bancroft of Southaven, and Jeannie Ash of Olive Branch.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Martha Marie Osteen Evans, parents, four brothers: Larry Evans, Henry Evans, Charles Evans, and Bobby Jo Lewis, three sisters: Kathy Matthews, Diana Allen, and Ann Horwitz. He is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Tiffany Smith.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, beginning at 10:00 am and lasting until service time. The service will begin at 11:00 am. Everything will take place at the Salem Baptist Church in Potts Camp, Mississippi. Burial will be in the Salem Baptist Cemetery.
Jimmy will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
